Welcome to Tonbridge Model Engineering Society

Tonbridge Model Engineering Society is a small friendly club near Tonbridge Castle, between the castle field car park and Tonbridge Swimming pool. Primarily our focus is on keeping our wonderful little railway running but many of our members share other interests around Model Engineering. The railway is 1360ft long and with the average ride lasting 3 minutes, you'll be weaving your way around our grounds, passing close by the Carriage, Chicken Shed, The River Medway and back towards the Engine Shed, not to mention the squirrels that like to relax on the track....

On the 3 1/2 & 5 inch raised track you'll often find us running both Steam and Electric Locomotives and with members bringing their own engines you never know which one you are going to ride behind. Head to our About page to see some of our regular members and thier engines.

All of our train rides are given on a donations basis and we now accept debit/credit cards. This really does help to keep the railway running. This incredible miniature railway has been on its current site for over 70 years now!

We normally operate from 13:30 - 16:30 Saturday & Sunday during British Summer Time. *Please be aware that this is subject to change, So be sure to check our social media pages for more information.

Every so often we host special events at TMES, our most recent was our 70th anniversary at our current site, invites were sent out to various other model engineering societies and the turnout was amazing. How to find us

TMES are conveniently located next to Castle Field car park and Tonbridge Swimming Pool and a short walk to Tonbridge castle & the high street. From the B2260, Simply follow the signs for Tonbridge swimming pool.

Tonbridge Model Engineering Society are proud to have been accepted for a national lottery grant, this enabled us to protect the railway and install fences around the perimeter. Check out the About page for more information.
